Our clients are learning about the process of growing tomatoes, maintaining greenhouse equipment, plant maintenance and nutrition, running the onsite market, integrating pest management, packaging and labeling. SunGarden is designed with the well-being of workers as its primary concern. Only natural biological controls are used to manage pests in the greenhouse, leaving the environment safe and more hospitable for the plants and people in it. The daily tasks required in the greenhouse are varied which means that client workers have the opportunity to try many jobs throughout the growing seasons.
Up to three client workers are at the SunGarden Greenhouse at a given time and workers share shifts five days a week, which creates a multitude of chances to experience something new.
